It’s hard to imagine that the Super Bowl Scramble has already come and gone and the Chinnie Cup is only a few weeks away. To say that our season is racing along would be an understatement. We have already had a couple of social events this year that were a success and we hope to keep that buzz going throughout the year.

There are many people who embark on playing golf but do not really try to understand the rules or the courtesy used in what is called the “Gentlemen’s Game.” It is always good to at least understand the basics before you play a round of golf.

This is just to make sure we are on the same page. Golf is played by striking a ball using a club on an area called the “tee box.” Once the ball is hit, it typically lands on what is called a “fairway.”

Over the next few months we thought it would be fun to review the rules of golf as they pertain to our golf courses. We will be putting different characters in separate situations on different holes at each course and allow you, the reader  to figure out the correct rulings.

Why is it important to have my Driver fitted to me?  This is a question that a lot of us amateur golfers probably don't ask enough, but we should.  There are several reasons why we should make sure that our clubs and yes even Driver should be fitted to us.

After having one of the wettest winters that I personally can remember, I stepped out of the Club house yesterday and found the weather absolutely perfect.  For the first time in 2010 we had a great day for golf and it showed.  It seemed that a lot of the members thought the same thing as several rounds of golf were played on this holiday Monday.
